New 500 AED polymer banknote with KINEGRAM COLORS® stripe issued by the CBUAE
KURZ congratulates the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE) on its new 500 AED polymer banknote, which was released into circulation on November 30, 2023.
According to CBUAE, the new banknote tells the story of sustainability in the UAE and features distinctive design and advanced security features. This includes a multi-colored, registered KINEGRAM COLORS® stripe from KURZ. Depicting Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, the stripe is applied over a large transparent window in the polymer substrate.
It is the second time that CBUAE is using advanced security from KURZ. The AED 500 banknote with its KINEGRAM COLORS® registered stripe follows the previous deployment of the technology in the AED 1000 banknote, which marked a first in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. In doing so, CBUAE aims at continuing the successful fight against counterfeiting. KURZ is a proud and determined partner in this endeavour.
