New Australian $100 Banknote with KINEGRAM ZERO.ZERO®
Fuerth/Germany, 15/10/2020: The Australian Reserve Bank has announced the new $100 banknote will be released into general circulation on 29 October 2020. The new banknotes have been in production since mid-2019 and will soon be distributed ahead of their release into general circulation.
Like the new $5, $10, $50 and $20 notes issued in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, the new $100 features a top-to-bottom transparent window with a registered KINEGRAM ZERO.ZERO® foil stripe applied on top, that can be viewed from either side of the banknote. The foil stripe in particular features an elegant, three-dimensional fan with colourful lines, a flying and a beautifully rendered sitting Australian Masked Owl, as well as Australia's national floral emblem, the Golden Wattle.
The KINEGRAM ZERO.ZERO® stripe was developed and supplied by KURZ, who to date is the only successful supplier of foil features for polymer substrates. KURZ is also the only provider of this unique partial metallization technology, which allows diffractive design elements, including very fine lines down to 40µm, to be in perfect register to the partial metallization.
