New Australian $10 Revealed
Fuerth/Germany, 17/02/2017: The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has unveiled the design of their new $10 banknote, the second in their new 'Next Generation' banknote series after the release of the $5 banknote in September 2016. Like the predecessor, the new $10 note will be printed on Guardian® polymer substrate and incorporate a KINEGRAM ZERO.ZERO® foil stripe from KURZ, applied over a top-to-bottom clear window.
The remaining denominations will be upgraded over the coming years, with each banknote in the series incorporating the same security features.
The $10 banknote celebrates two famous Australian writers, Dame Mary Gilmore and Andrew Barton ‘Banjo’ Paterson. Their work is recognised in several design elements on the banknote, including images of a pen nib in two of the clear windows and excerpts from two of their most famous poems.
