New English £10 with KINEGRAM COLORS®

Fuerth/Germany, 14/09/2017: The Bank of England issued the new 10 pound banknote into circulation on September 14, 2017. Following the new 'Fiver', it is the second English banknote to be printed on  polymer substrate.

According to the Bank of England, the new £10 note is cleaner, safer and stronger. It contains highly sophisticated security features which make it very difficult to counterfeit. The principal security element is a KINEGRAM COLORS® foil stripe from KURZ, applied over a large transparent window in the substrate. It is the second banknote worldwide to carry this feature, which the Bank of England has found to be extremely effective in terms of security and ease of use. The banknotes are expected to last at least 2.5 times longer than the current paper £10 notes and stay in mint condition during circulation.

A new £20 polymer banknote featuring J.M.W Turner will follow in 2020.
