New Australian $20 Banknote with KINEGRAM ZERO.ZERO®
Fuerth/Germany, 23/02/2019: On 22 February 2019, the Reserve Bank of Australia announced the design of its new $20 banknote, which will be released into circulation in October 2019.
The new $20 will use the same design theme and principal security features as the first three denominations in the Reserve Bank’s 'Next Generation' banknote series. The principal security element will again be a highly sophisticated KINEGRAM ZERO.ZERO® foil stripe, applied over a top-to-bottom clear window. Inside the foil stripe, a flying kookaburra can be seen moving its wings and changing color.
As with the $5, $10 and $50, the new $20 will also deploy motives of a wattle and a native bird – the Acacia buxifolia and a Laughing Kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae).
Further details on the design and security features of the new $20 banknote can be obtained from the Reserve Bank of Australia's website.
